Frescopia Retirement Community
Frescopia is an amalgation of an idealized space and Al frescos resulting in a Retirement Village with an emphasis on community living for the elderly. Each residential unit has an Alfresco that the resident may wish to open it to his or her neighbors. The core of the building structure repeats itself every three floors. There is a play of Polycarbonate Al fresco cubes, balconies and heavy plantation on the periphery of the building that give the building its staggered look. Ground floor to third floor have spaces such as Cafe, Library, Exhibition spaces, Medical Clinic and Physiotherapy spaces. There are community spaces on the terrace with a walking track along the periphery and a swimming pool. Work done in groups of four as a part of Advanced Architectural Design Studio 8 with construction drawings as the emphasis.
